What about making Etoys more developers friendly, especially when we want them to stick to Etoys.
More likely we will attract developers interested by the Etoys concepts but without prior knowledge to Smalltalk. Giving a good felling to the developer when they first try to look underneath is important.
A few possible improvement I see:
- better choice for the font, or even a better font rendering, the existing rendering is fuzzy and very far from today standard (better solution are already existing)
- better coloring in the source code, the current coloring scheme is unusable, and I suspect nobody use it, numbers are rendered with a clear color on a clear background (better solution are already existing).
- the _ assignment (I can imagine how weird it can look for developers)
- make Etoys usable to develop and to deploy on top of it extension to experiment with new ICT paradigm for education
- a few refactoring tools will not hurt (better solution are already existing)
